This titanic project also had to connect an already created garden with a plot where everything was redesigned from practically zero, except for a remarkable stone wall and an avenue of century-old plane trees.

The pathways were redesigned to create a play of hidden/revealed views of the final tableau of breathtaking beauty. A park composed of several hundred trees chosen for their autumn colors on entirely cleared and remodeled land, large expanses of more than 1,000 perennials and purple shrubs, and a pine understory planted with more than 10,000 heathers are some of the elements that lead to a deliberately very minimalist garden so as not to compete with the nearby mountains.
