Property in Eure-et-Loir

"On the advice of a friend for whom he had worked, we hired Bertrand de Perignon in 2014 for the landscaping of two small houses (fruit stores built in an English 'cottage' style) located in the park of the Château de Maillebois. The challenge was to clear the north facades of these two cottages which were buried, and to create a space allowing the buildings to breathe.

The solution that Bertrand proposed allowed us not only to achieve this objective but also to include underground garages that enable the cars to be concealed in this small but very bucolic space.

We are also very satisfied with the plant selection made by Bertrand, which perfectly matches the spirit of an English-style garden and property that my wife wanted and which responds to the style of the houses we had renovated. The entire intervention and the plot redistribution that was carried out at the same time were much more easily integrated thanks to this very 'natural' selection of perennials and shrubs for the hedges."

Property in Maine-et-Loire

"Bertrand de Perignon worked on our Le Serrain property in 2012-2014.
We faced a complex issue of excavating a forecourt between the manor and the outbuildings. Together with the Architect of the Buildings of France, we planned to level this forecourt to the level of the dry moat that borders the manor to the north, but we were not convinced by the various choices to be made. I called upon Bertrand, whom I had already discussed with Louis Benech, whom I met in Le Lude as part of the Prix Redouté. He had spoken very highly of him.

I must acknowledge that I am delighted to have brought him in. We were preparing to do earthwork that we would have regretted. The retaining wall extending from that of the dry moat would have been a frankly unfortunate choice. Bertrand's idea was to 'bend' it towards the dovecote so as to orient it almost perpendicular to the outbuilding, which added a few meters.

By becoming partly triangular, the forecourt then integrated a staging of the dovecote overlooking this forecourt: we would have missed this successful aesthetic choice that seems so natural today. Missing this visual construction would have meant imbalances and, ultimately, having to rebuild a 2.5m high retaining wall with the accompanying earthwork. I don't think I would have been capable of it.

Thank you Bertrand for this beautiful result that I enjoy every day: 'seeing is an art.'"

Balconies in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris

"We called upon Bertrand when we moved into this beautiful apartment in 2014, to create a green and fragrant environment through our windows. We wanted our balconies not only to create a protective barrier from the urban environment, but also to create a flowering and natural plant world that contrasts with our sober and minimalist interior. Both being very busy with our careers, it was important that the plants chosen ensure a long flowering period but require minimal maintenance...

After two years of maintenance limited to deadheading roses and treating aphids, thanks to the drip irrigation system he installed, we are very happy with his choice of plants and the effect produced by his creation."
